TiERMAX offers conical screw mixer /dryers which are widely used for several applications in: chemical, plastics, pharmaceutical, foodstuffs, pigments, coatings, fodder and mining industries. The application of conical screw mixer /dryer is similar to the one of the horizontal type, it is to mix both dry powders and powders with liquid additives.
Conical screw mixer / dryers can be used also for following processes:

The mixing effect is obtained by means of a screw which rotates on its own axis, conveying product from bottom to the top, and simultaneously orbits along the inner conical vessel wall.

These conical screw mixer / dryer can be single or double shaft and consist of a conical body, flanged cover (with feeding and inspection doors) and discharging gate, pneumatically operated, fitted at the apex of the cone.
Working principle is based on a progressive mixing system avoiding “dead zones” of non-mixed material. The simultaneous motion of suitable transmissions causes the mixing screw to accomplish two movements: one of rotation on its own axis and one of revolution around the conical vessel wall.
In such a way the screw convey product from bottom to the top causing at the same time a horizontal flow that promote an innermost homogenizing. Thanks to this combined action product, previously conveyed to the top, falls on the product below by generating a three-dimensional mixing movement.
Conical screw mixer / dryers are available in several versions to meet specific production requirements. They are manufactured in good quality steel or stainless steel AISI 304 and AISI 316, depending on the type of material being processed. If necessary, special linings can be fitted to minimize abrasion, corrosion or prevent product adhering to internal surfaces.
Conical vacuum screw dryer
The conical vacuum screw dryer series is a batch dryer suitable for mixing and drying materials such as powders, granules, pastes and viscous slurries, especially when products contain solvents.
The system is composed of:
Upper cover, flanged and insulated, designed to withstand vacuum and the dynamic load on the engine.
On the upper cover are allowed at least the nozzle for product loading, two sight glasses (n° 1 with lamp),
the connection nozzle for the filter, the nozzle for inerting, spray balls, 360° pattern in fixed position and
telescopic for cleaning, other connections upon request.
Conical-shaped body flanged at the ends, complete with cooling-heating jacket at atmospheric pressure
and welded insulation watertight. Variable useful exchange surface.
On the sides are provided the nozzles for input / output of diathermic oil or heating/cooling fluid, the temperature probe and the shelves for the support of the existing structure.
Spiral screw agitator, supported at the top by proper arm that transmits the rotation movement of the
screw on its axis and, at the same time, accompanies it in the revolution movement around the cone walls,
without bottom support. Heated version upon request.
Vacuum resistant sliding door or alternatively segment ball valve with pneumatic actuator, double acting.
Insulated and jacketed filter with removable lid to allow the extraction of the filter bag from the top.
On top of the lid are provided the nozzles for vacuum and vent.
The cleaning of the filter modules takes place via reverse flow of N2 managed by relevant control unit.
Gasket in PTFE packed Silicone between the flanges.
