Rotary Valve

Self cleaning rotary valve:

The self cleaning rotary valves are used for bulk-solids dosing, sealing, feeding, discharging, and measuring of adhesive, bridging bulk products and products that tend to cause blocking. The ultra-compact welded structure enables both individual adjustments and a multitude of housing and rotor versions.
Rotary valves are used to process a wide variety of bulk materials, including ashes, coal, cement, sewage sludge, polymers, crystalline acids, methyl cellulose, and carbon black, as well as any other dusty or grainy product.
Rotary valves operate according to the principle of volumetric conveying, A defined discharge rate sets in based on the rotary valve geometry and speed.
The forced cleaning rotary valves offers controlled conveying of all bulk materials that could not be handled by a non-self-cleaning model.
Our product range covers all the required options, designs and materials. Depending on the intended use, we offer heated or cooled self-cleaning rotary valves or with add-on features such as leakage air collectors and overfill protectors.

Rotary Valve

The rotary valve is a mechanical device used in various industries to control the flow of bulk materials in a processing system. It consists of a rotating rotor with vanes or blades that create a seal between different sections of the system, allowing for the controlled transfer of materials. This valve is commonly used in pneumatic conveying systems, dust collection systems, and other applications where material flow control is crucial.

The rotary valve operates by rotating the rotor within a housing. As the rotor turns, the vanes or blades create chambers that alternately fill with material from one side and discharge it to the other side. This cyclic movement ensures a continuous flow of materials while maintaining a proper seal between different sections of the system, preventing leakage and minimizing air or gas loss.

The self-cleaning rotary valve is an enhanced version that includes features to prevent material build-up and ensure continuous operation. It is designed to handle materials that may have a tendency to stick or accumulate within the valve. These valves typically incorporate special design elements such as anti-stick coatings, adjustable rotor clearances, and additional cleaning mechanisms.

The anti-stick coatings, such as Teflon or special polymers, reduce material adhesion to the rotor and housing surfaces, preventing build-up and maintaining smooth material flow. Adjustable rotor clearances allow for fine-tuning of the valve’s performance, optimizing the sealing and material transfer process. Some self-cleaning rotary valves also include cleaning mechanisms like brushes or air purging systems to dislodge any accumulated material and ensure uninterrupted operation.

Both rotary valves and self-cleaning rotary valves find applications in various industries, including food processing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, plastics, and more. They offer efficient and controlled material transfer, reducing the risk of contamination, improving process efficiency, and enhancing overall production performance. These valves are designed to handle a wide range of materials, from fine powders to coarse granules, making them versatile solutions for material handling systems.

We offer specialized rotary valves for metering, sealing, feeding, discharging and measuring bulk products for sophisticated areas of application. Simple rotary valves operate according to the principle of volumetric conveying. Here the bulk product falls by gravity into the mostly star-shaped chambers in the inlet area of the rotary valve. By rotating the rotor, a defined quantity of bulk product is conveyed to the discharge area. A defined discharge rate sets in based on the rotary valve geometry and speed.

Among other things, we offer high-pressure and high-temperature rotary valves and forced clearing rotary valves for adhesive and bridging bulk materials that, depending on their intended use, can be heated or cooled or equipped with add-on features such as leakage air collectors and overfill protectors.
