For mixing of plastic products like HPDE (high-density-polyethylene) and PP (polypropylene) rep. olefins in general.
In most cases the polymer additive mixer is located upstream to the extruder which takes the mixture of the raw-product and several additives and produces pellets. Koellemann produces polymer additive mixers with oversized inner surfaces and sophisticated engineered mixing-tool-geometries to ensure a high and reliable, process-safe mixing quality. Unwanted heating-up of the product is avoided and gentle handling of the bulk-solid achieved with using our polymer additive mixers.
To ensure protection against explosions – even in our standard version – it is possible to use nitrogen purging in polymer additive mixer package to safeguard the product chamber and the shaft passages against the ingression of oxygen and to generate an inert atmosphere.
For our polymer additive mixer in the area of the material outlet, Koellemann offers an additional bag filter with automatic, differential-pressure-controlled cleaning in order to avoid any overpressure in the product space due to upstream or downstream components as well as nitrogen loading. Koellemann multimode twin polymer additive mixer fully redesigned, improved mixer is capable of either mixing polymers in “natural” mode, which doesn’t utilize carbon black or change to “black” mode which adds carbon black.

Multimode Twin Polymer Additive Mixer

Pellets are produced in “natural” or “black” grade, one mixing & extrusion line can only produce one grade. There is no ability  to change the grade without significant effort.
