High-Temperature Valve
TIERMAX provides engineered high-temperature valves for the reliable isolation, discharge, and controlled handling of hot bulk solids in demanding industrial processes.
Designed for applications involving hot ash, minerals, combustion residues, and other high-temperature materials, these valves can be configured with heat-resistant materials, specialized sealing systems, insulation, cooling, and suitable actuation according to the process conditions. High-temperature solutions are available for applications ranging from approximately 400°C up to 1,200°C, depending on the valve design and operating requirements. The high-temperature rotary slide gate valve is designed for the permanent and safe shut-off of high-temperature bulk materials, such as ash and products from combustion processes in the temperature range up to 950°.
High-Temperature Valve - Models
TIERMAX high-temperature valve solutions can include high-temperature rotary valves, self-cleaning rotary valves, slide gate valves, and swing gate valves, selected according to material characteristics, temperature, pressure, required isolation, and operating frequency.
High-temperature rotary valves
Tiermax high-temperature self-cleaning rotary valves are designed for reliable bulk material handling at temperatures from 400°C up to 1,200°C. Critical components, including the rotor (cellular wheel), are manufactured from specially selected heat-resistant materials. For extreme temperatures, the shaft and housing can be water-cooled to protect key components and ensure stable operation.
High-temperature, self-cleaning rotary valves
The high-temperature self-cleaning rotary valve is designed for handling hot, sticky, and difficult-flowing bulk materials. A synchronized mechanical scraper continuously cleans the rotor chambers, reducing material buildup and blockages while ensuring reliable dosing, discharge, and consistent material flow under high-temperature conditions.
High-temperature rotary slide gate valves
The high-temperature rotary slide gate valve is designed for the permanent and safe shut-off of high-temperature bulk materials, such as ash and products from combustion processes in the temperature range up to 950°. To compensate for any temperature losses during the entry and exit processes, we offer our swing gate valves optionally with trace heating and suitable insulation.

High-Temperature Valve Selection
Selecting the correct valve depends on more than operating temperature. TIERMAX evaluates the bulk material, maximum and continuous temperature, particle size, abrasiveness, bulk density, pressure conditions, required capacity, installation position, operating frequency, and required sealing performance to determine a suitable valve configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Depending on the valve type, materials, cooling system, and process conditions, high-temperature bulk-solids valves can be engineered for applications ranging from approximately 400°C to 1,200°C.
Solutions can include rotary valves, self-cleaning rotary valves, slide gate valves, and swing gate valves.
Yes. Suitable valve designs and wear-resistant or heat-resistant materials can be selected for abrasive products such as ash and mineral materials.
Not always. At extreme temperatures, however, critical components such as the shaft and housing may require water cooling to protect the valve and associated components.
Yes. Depending on the process, insulation and trace heating can be incorporated to reduce heat loss and maintain the required operating temperature.
Selection is based on material characteristics, operating and maximum temperature, pressure, capacity, valve function, installation arrangement, operating frequency, and site requirements.
